The driver of a bakkie involved in an accident on Christmas Day that claimed the life of a 10-year-old girl in Mossel Bay has been arrested on charges of culpable homicide, drunken driving and resisting arrest.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Chris Spies says the accident happened along George Road near De Bakke on Wednesday afternoon.
At least 11 other passengers were also taken to hospital with various injuries.
Spies says the 28-year-old suspect remains in custody and is expected to make his first appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on Friday.
He says that, according to available reports, both the driver and the victim lived in the KwaNonqaba area.
The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
