Parents of Mossel Bay learner stabbed at school won't lay charges

The KwaNonqaba police on Thursday morning clamped down on the Indwe Secondary School following two non-fatal stabbing incidents this week.

Learners were searched for hidden weapons.

On Monday a 15-year-old learner from Mossel Bay was stabbed with a sharp object and sustained a stab wound to his lower back.

The child was at school to write an exam when he was attacked by a group of teenagers in civilian clothes.

The victim and his parents, however, refuse to lay a charge.

On Wednesday another 18-year-old learner was stabbed at the school when an argument broke out on school premises.

Police arrested a 16-year-old in connection with the incident and he will appear in court soon on a charge of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The suspect was released in the care of his mother and will appear in court on the 18th of June.
