A learner from the Hillcrest Secondary School in Mossel Bay has died in hospital after being attacked and stabbed at school.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie said it was alleged that the 16-year-old boy was attacked by three fellow learners with knives on Monday morning.
He said the learner, who has not yet been identified, sustained multiple stab wounds to his upper body.
Pojie said the suspects fled after which the victim collapsed near a classroom.
He was rushed to hospital where he later died of his injuries.
Pojie said the suspects were still at large and police were investigating a case of murder.
The Western Cape Education Department said it was providing psychological counselling services to the learners and teachers at the school.
