A 32-year-old man from Mossel Bay was killed late on Monday afternoon, when he was hit by a truck in Depot Street near the Langeberg Mall.
According to police, the man, who was a hairdresser in Mossel Bay, was standing on the pavement when the truck hit him.
Da Gamaskop police members arrested the truck driver on the scene and took blood samples.
Shortly thereafter, the truck driver was charged with culpable homicide and drunken driving.
The man, from Bloemfontein, will appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate court on Wednesday.
