The Vice-Chancellors of the Walter Sisulu and Fort Hare Universities are concerned about the rising numbers of Covid 19 infections at their Institutions.
To date, positive cases at the University of Fort Hare have risen to 59 from the initial 33 who tested positive.
Fort Hare University spokesperson Thandi Maphukatha, says most of the infected students are in the Nursing Faculty, but on Wednesday, more cases were reported from other Faculties.
She says they have been working with the provincial Health structures to conduct testing on all campuses.
The initial group of students infected attended a party where no Lockdown regulations were adhered to.
Meanwhile, more cases at the Walter Sisulu University are still unfolding, some students have shown symptoms and are awaiting their test results.
