Mom in court for giving toddler anti-depressants

 A Mossel Bay mother appeared in the local magistrate's court on Friday morning on charges that include child neglect.

It's alleged that the 40-year-old woman had given her two year old child an overdose of anti-depressants over a period of time.

The child is said to be under-developed and had been treated in a local hospital. She has since been placed in foster care.

The case was postponed to the 28th of this month.

The mother is currently out on bail.
