It was a good day for the mohair market on Tuesday.
The penultimate sale of the 2015 winter season saw the market continue its upward trend with a 12% improvement over the previous sale.
Mohair SA said there was a total offering 113 146 kilograms with a 100% sales clearance.
The market indicator closed on R224.61 per kg.
Mohair SA says two individual kid bales each achieved a highest price of R350 a kilogram.
Compared to the previous sale, prices were as follows:
Kids (winter) Up 8%
Young Goats (winter) Up 11%
Fine Adults Up 12%
Strong Adults Up 14%
Average Up 12%
The last auction of the winter season will take place on 1 December 2015.
