A 31-year-old teacher from Matatiele in the Eastern Cape was found dead after being reported missing on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson, Captain Khaya Tonjeni, said her body was found near Mount Fletcher on Wednesday after a suspect was arrested in Mthatha with her stolen bakkie.
He said during questioning the 28-year-old man first denied knowing anything about her disappearance.
However, he later led police to the spot where he allegedly killed and dumped her body.
Tonjeni said it appeared that the woman had been strangled.
The suspect will appear in court on Friday on charges of murder and hijacking.
