A 55-year-old man is in police custody in Maclear after the body of a missing woman was found mutilated in his house.
Police spokesperson Captain Ursula Roelofse says the suspect is expected to make his first court appearance on Wednesday when he will be charged with rape and murder.
She says it is alleged that the victim, 27-year-old Bongeka Madini was drinking with friends and the suspect at a local tavern on the 25th of February when she was last seen.
Captain Roelofse says Madini's friend assumed that she had left with the suspect and only became suspicious when she had not heard from her in three days.
She says the friend reported her as missing and on the same day the suspect was arrested at his home in TV Park.
Madini's body was found in his toilet area, cut in half, allegedly by a saw.
