Eastern Cape police are searching for a Correctional Services official after the body of a 45-year-old woman was found in his quarters at the East London prison.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, said the woman's body was found with visible injuries at the suspect's living quarters at Fort Glamorgan Correctional Facility in West Bank.
The victim, who has not yet been identified, was discovered at 2 pm on Tuesday.
He says police are hot on his heels and an arrest is imminent.
Police have opened a case of murder for investigation.
