The Lion who escaped from the Karoo National Park outside Beaufort West in February has been found and successfully darted.
A Spokesperson for SANParks Fayroush Ludick says the lion is currently in a police holding cell in Sutherland awaiting a crate to transport him back to the Park.
He was roaming the Karoo for a month eating an eland, some sheep and a goat along the way.
The lion escaped on the 15th of February after heavy rain damaged the Park's fence.
The animal covered an area of about 200km.
He is expected to go back to the park on Thursday.
