Missing EC cop found dead

Eastern Cape police have found the body of a policeman who had been missing since Tuesday.

Provincial police spokesperson, Captain Khaya Tonjeni, says the the body of 51-year old Sergeant Sabelo Mali was identified this morning after the community of Punzana recovered the body in the bushes.

He said Sergeant Mali had a gunshot wound to the upper body.

A case of murder is under investigation.

Police said this state vehicle, a white VW Polo, registration HGP 202 EC is missing as well as his service pistol and two cell phones.
