East London police have discovered the body of a young man who had been missing since last week Wednesday.
Police spokesperson, captain Steven Marais, says the body of 22-year-old Lammert Belgrove, was found trapped inside his bakkie on the N-2 between the Beacon Bay and Gonubie off-ramps on Monday morning.
He was last seen at Tatyanka's pub in Abbotsford early on Thursday morning and when he did not show up at home his family reported him missing.
"Members of the police as well as private investigator, Christian Botha, had a suspicious or feeling where they need to search for him on the N-2," said Marais.
"They came here to the bush where they found the vehicle where Mr Belgrove went missing in. They then discovered that Mr Belgrove was trapped inside the vehicle," he said.
Marais said that Belgrove's body was officially identified by his uncle.
A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
According to a media report Belgrove had graduated top of his class from Stellenbosch University with an honours degree in political science.
