Defence Minister, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula has once again been deployed by the ANC to address problems in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.
The party says in a statement the main objective of her visit on Sunday, is to assist provincial leaders in resolving the rift in the ANC-led alliance in the metro.
It says Mapisa-Nqakula is known for her wealth of experience in dispute resolution as a mediator, and her role is to ensure that all parties find common ground that will help everyone move forward with a unified vision.
She would be joined by a high profile delegation comprising of NEC members, nad senior provincial leaders from the ANC, COSATU, SACP and SANCO.
The ANC says the delegation will spare no effort to help find solutions to challenges faced by the structures in the metro.
It says the upsurge in violent service delivery protests in and around Uitenhage will also top the agenda.
