The Eastern Cape Health Department has confirmed that another person has died as a result of injuries sustained during the explosion at a factory in Middelburg a week ago.
Health Department spokesperson, Sizwe Kupelo, says John Barendse succummed to his injuries on Monday night.
He is the fourth person to have died following last week's explosion and fire at Rolfe Laboratories aerosol factory in the Eastern Cape town.
More than 30 people were injured in the blast, while 18 of them who were seriously injured had been transferred to hospitals in Port Elizabeth.
The cause of the explosion and fire is still under investigation.
