Nelson Mandela Bay will hold a special council meeting on Tuesday.
This follows the decision by Local Government and Traditional Affairs MEC Mlibo Qoboshiyane to recall acting municipal manager, Themba Hani.
Hani was effectively axed after Council passed a motion of no-confidence in him.
The proposed new acting municipal manager will serve until a permanent appointment is made.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Alliance, is expected to table its motion of no confidence in executive mayor, Zanoxolo Wayile.
This is expected to come before the last Council meeting for the year on Thursday.
