5-star PE hotel to be sold

The five-star Radisson Blu hotel on Port Elizabeth’s beachfront is to be sold.

Metro Minute reports that the joint liquidators have advertised their intention to dispose of the business as a going concern, free of any historical debt.

The liquidators are acting on instructions of the major creditors of Auspex Hotels and Leisure Company, which is in liquidation, Absa Bank, the Industrial Development Corporation and a number of private sectional title holders.

In seeking the liquidation in August, the parties specifically requested that the business of the hotel should continue without any interruption.

Neil Hughes of the Rezidor Group, which manages the hotel, told Business Day that the hotel was trading profitably and will remain a Radisson Blu as long as they can keep it there.
