Two people were shot and killed while drinking at a tavern in Port Elizabeth in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says they have now launched a manhunt for the suspect involved.
She says four patrons, two men and two women, entered the tavern in Ferguson Road in New Brighton shortly after midnight and sat down near the bar counter.
Colonel Naidu says it is alleged that an unknown suspect approached their table and an argument broke out between the men.
The suspect allegedly did not want the patrons to sit at that particular table and shot dead both men by firing multiple shots.
Colonel Naidu says the names of the deceased are not yet known.
A double murder case is under investigation.
According to Level 1 lockdown regulations, alcohol may only be sold until midnight.
