A Memorial Ride for former world mountain bike champion Burry Stander has been planned in Port Elizabeth on Thursday.
It is co-ordinated by local cycling enthusiast Brad Jackson and will start at Walmer Park Shopping centre on Thursday evening.
The ride will take cyclists down the William Moffett express way and starts at 6pm.
Stander was killed in KZN last week when he was knocked down by a taxi while returning home from a training ride.
Jackson says the PE Traffic Department will be supporting the memorial ride.
Event Support Services will provide an ambulance to follow the convoy as part of their support for cycling safety.
Lead vehicles and follow vehicles for the convoy will be supplied by local Cycling Shops.
Jackson says everyone on mountain bikes and road bikes will be welcome.
