Memorial held for murdered pregnant George mom

A memorial service was held for murdered 29-year-old Leonie Williams from George on Friday evening.

Police arrested her ex-boyfriend, 46-year-old Elton Veldman shortly after her brutal murder on 16 October.

Williams was pregnant at the time of her death and was stabbed with a sharp object in front of her six-year-old son at a house in Rosedale.

Veldman, who has been in custody since his arrest, will appear in the George Magistrate's Court on Tuesday for a formal bail application.
