Health MEC, Sicelo Gqobana has promised to consult his counterparts in the department of local government as well as the Eastern Cape premier over what he called a crisis over the influx of patients with circumcision-related injuries to hospitals accross the province.
More than 260 people are being treated for circumcision-related complications.
Provincial health department spokesperson, Sizwe Kupelo says the MEC visited hospitals in the Transkei on Frirday to assess initiates who required immediate medical care.
