The MEC for Human Settlements, Helen Sauls-Agust has called for an end to violence against elderly women in the Eastern Cape.
She says in a statement senseless attacks and the killing of helpless elderly people should be viewed as the worst kind of crimes against humanity.
Sauls-Agust was reacting to the murder of an 82 year old woman in Flagstaff on Saturday morning by three boys.
On discovery of the murder, the community attacked and killed one of the boys while the other two escaped.
