Nelson Mandela Bay executive mayor, Mongameli Bobani, has met with striking call centre workers who are demanding to be employed permanently.
The Municipality's call centre (0800 20 5050) reportedly ground to a halt on Friday after temporary employees said they were told that the matter would be resolved at the end of January.
In tweets on his official account, mayor Bobani said he had promised the strikers that he would sit down with acting municipal manager Peter Neilsen, to resolve this issue.
In the meantime, Mayor Bobani's urging residents to be patient with the Municipality while they resolve the issue.
He also invited residents to continue to report their complaints regarding water, electricity and sanitation, through Facebook or email.
The mayor said service delivery will continue.
Residents are reminded to ask for a reference number when reporting a problem.
