Massive dagga bust in Queenstown and Cookhouse


 Eastern Cape police have arrested two men for allegedly being in possession of dagga worth an estimated one million rand.

Police spokesperson, captain Mali Govender, says the men, aged 45 and 47, were arrested on Monday morning on the N-10 near Cookhouse.

She says the bust was made by members of Uitenhage's K-9 unit.

The suspects will appear in court soon.

Meanwhile Eastern Cape police have made another big dagga bust.

Members of the Queenstown Flying Squad confiscated 44 bags of dagga on Monday after searching a mini-bus on the road between Carthcart Road and Queenstown.

Police said its believed the dagga, valued at R1.5 million, was being transported from Nqeleni to Cape Town,

One person was arrested and will appear in court on Wednesday on a charge of possessing dagga.
