Police members from the Queenstown/Komani Cluster Combating Task Team have arrested five men and seized drugs worth more than R1.5 million.
Captain Namhla Mdleleni say the members received information on Sunday about a taxi loaded with dagga travelling from Dodrecht to Cape Town on the Molteno route.
The taxi was duly spotted and pulled over.
A search was conducted and six mielie bags of dagga were found in the possession of two men who were arrested on the spot.
Captain Mdleleni says a short while later, police members spotted a suspicious Quantum on the R61 travelling towards Tarkastad.
The taxi was pulled over after a short chase and 53 bags of dagga were found packed inside the vehicle.
The drugs were confiscated and three men were taken into custody.
All five suspects will appear in the Queenstown and Molteno Magistrate Courts soon on charges of dealing in dagga.
