Four municipal wards, including one in the Nelson Mandela Bay, have been affected after the Electoral Court's postponement of by-elections scheduled for March.
Over 7 000 voters had already registered to vote in ward 17 in NMB Metro before the ruling.
The Electoral Court granted the postponement to the Electoral Commission because Level 3 lockdown regulations prohibit political activities.
The Court said the elections should be held within 120 days from the date of the order.
The IEC has postponed 24 by-elections due to the Covid19 second wave.
