At least fifteen people died in road accidents the country this morning.
Four people died in two accidents in the Transkei.
Eastern Cape traffic spokesperson Tshepo Machaea says three people died instantly and 60 were injured when a truck overturned near Lusikisiki at about a quarter to seven.
The truck was transporting people to a traditional ritual when the accident happened.
Machaea says at about the same time, the driver of a truck died in a head-on collision with a car on the N2 between Mthatha and Qunu.
Elsewhere, six people died when a VW Golf rolled in the N3 in Gauteng.
Earlier, five people died near Pietermaritzburg when a bakkie overturned.
A tow truck which was rushing to the accident scene crashed into the bakkie's wreck afterwards.
