Port Elizabeth police are hunting for the perpetrators who shot and killed a two-year-old girl and wounded her mother and six-year-old brother.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said the incident happened in Canary Street in Booysens Park on Wednesday night when gunmen opened fire through a bedroom window.
The two-year-old child was fatally wounded while her six-year-old brother was shot in the knee.
Naidu said the 39-year-old mother sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach.
The motive for the shooting has yet to be established and the suspects are unknown at this stage.
Police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder.
