A 44-year-old man from Port Elizabeth was arrested on Friday shortly after allegedly robbing a garage in Commercial Road, for a second time.
Police Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says when the suspect entered the shop just before 2 pm, the cashier recognised him and tried running to the back of the shop.
She says he stopped and threatened her before emptying the cash register.
The suspect fled in his vehicle which was spotted in New Brighton later.
Police stopped the car and arrested the driver on the spot.
He will appear in court on Monday.
