Police in Jeffreys Bay have opened an inquest docket following a suicide at the main beach.
Spokesperson Warrant Officer Majoli Nkohli confirmed that the body of a 49-year-old man was found at 4 am on Saturday morning.
He says police were summoned to a crime scene on Dolphin Beach where they found the body.
A firearm was also on the scene.
WO Nkohli says the victim was from Gauteng.
His name was not released to the media.
