Police have recovered the bodies of two people who had been swept away in recent floods that caused havoc in the OR Tambo District Municipality.
They were identified as 53-year-old Fumanekile Mantshubaqa and 24-year-old Asenathi Mkawusi.
Divers are still searching for a third person, 42-year-old Mhlabunzima Sikathele.
The floods also claimed the life of a man who slipped over an embankment while fishing in Coffee Bay.
District Municipality spokesperson, Zimkhita Macingwane, says Port St Johns was the worst affected area.
She says 10 bridges have washed away making it difficult for residents to access nearby facilities while a large section of the R61 is also severely damaged.
Macingwane says damage assessments are still underway.
Premier Oscar Mabuyane is in Port St Johns on Saturday to assess the damage and speak to grieving families.
