Uitenhage Police are investigating a case of house robbery and attempted murder following a home invasion in Kamesh Uitenhage.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli, says three armed men forced their way into the home of the 27-year-old man.
He says they shot the man in the arm and also stabbed him in the stomach.
Nkholi says they took an undisclosed amount of cash and valuables before fleeing.
This incident follows another house robbery in Kwanobuhle on Thursday.
This week Statistics South Africa revealed in its latest Victims of Crime Survey that burglary and house robbery remains the most feared crime in South Africa.
According to the survey 84.6% surveyed households in the Eastern Cape believe property crime is linked to drug-related needs.
