Port Elizabeth police are searching for two youths who stabbed a Malabar man several times during a home invasion on Friday morning.
Police captain, Stanley Jarvis, says the suspects are aged between 16 and 20.
He says they broke a window to gain entry to the home in Calendula Street when they were confronted by the brother of the home-owner.
Jarvis says he was stabbed several times by one of the youths who was armed with a knife and is in critical condition in hospital.
The intruders stole a cellphone, jewellery and a wallet before fleeing.
