Police in Gqeberha are investigating a case of attempted murder and armed robbery after a man was shot and wounded at a dumping site in Walmer.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the 55-year-old victim and four of his co-workers drove the 5th avenue site to dump grass when three well-dressed men approached them.
She says one of the men pointed a firearm and fired a shot that hit him in his cheek.
Colonel Naidu says then the victim fell to the ground his phone and wallet was taken before he was shot yet again.
She says the second bullet hit him in the shoulder.
The suspects ran towards Airport Valley and jumped into a white bakkie.
She says all three suspects were neatly dressed and were wearing bandanas as masks.
