Man shot in both legs just a few feet away from PE Magistrates Court

Police are investigating a case of attempted murder following a shooting opposite the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscila Naidu says it is alleged that a 25-year-old was sitting inside a Ford Fiesta when an unknown person fired multiple shots at the vehicle just before midday on Thursday.

The victim sustained gun-shot wounds in both legs and was rushed to hospital.

Naidu says according to unconfirmed information, the suspect fled the scene in a white VW Golf.

The motive for the shooting is still unknown at this stage but police believe the incident is gang-related.
