Man shot dead in Northern Areas- body found on sidewalk

Police in Gqeberha are investigating a case of murder after the body of a man was found on a sidewalk in Helenvale.

Spokesperson Captain Andre Beetge says witnesses heard a shot being fired in Deveril Road at 3.30 am on Wednesday, but due to the darkness, they could not see what was going on.

He says just after 6 am the body of 25-year-old Keenan Francis was found with a gunshot wound to his head.

Captain Beetge says the motive for the killing is unknown but it is suspected that it is gang-related.
