Man shot and wounded outside VWSA plant in Uitenhage

Uitenhage police are investigating a case of attempted murder, following an incident on Friday evening outside the Volkswagen South Africa plant in Algoa Road.

Colonel Priscilla Naidu says according to police information, the victim, whose age is unknown, was walking to the pedestrian gate of the plant at around 10 pm, when shots were fired at him.

She says information and details remain sketchy, and a statement is yet to be obtained from the victim.

He was transported to hospital prior to the police's arrival.
