An elderly Plettenberg Bay man has shot himself in his car in the parking lot of the Knysna Provincial Hospital.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie, says the man had visited the hospital at around lunchtime on Monday.
He says eyewitnesses reported that the man had walked to the reception before returning to his car, where he shot himself.
Paramedics rushed to the scene, but he died later inside the hospital.
The man's name has not yet been released.
