Parents of learners at schools in Port Elizabeth's Northern Areas plan to hold picket protests Tuesday and Wednesday
The Northern Areas Education Forum says this is to highlight issues still affecting schools, including the likes of teacher shortages.
The Forum says Tuesday morning's pickets are scheduled to take place along Standford Road in support of the plight of the Astra Primary School in Bethelsdorp.
The school has been closed since last week when parents decided to close the gates until all vacant posts are filled.
Last week, the school said it had to let 10 teachers go who were paid by the school governing body because it no longer had the funds to pay them.
Forum spokesperson, Richard Draai, said the teachers were due to return to schools following Wednesday's protest.
