Man sentenced to 15-years for killing elderly in Humansdorp

A 30-year-old man will serve an effective 15-years imprisonment for the brutal murder of an elderly man near Humansdorp earlier this year.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli, says Solly Nkuna was sentenced at the Humansdorp Regional Court Wednesday.

Nkuna’s conviction follows the murder of 69-year-old Ntonyana Ramabudu, who was last seen by his family leaving their home in his grey Ford Ranger in February.

His lifeless body was found a day later with head injuries lying in an open space approximately a kilometre from route R330 in Humansdorp.

Nkohli says Nkuna received a 15-year sentence for murder and another 15-years on a charge of robbery with aggravating circumstances.
The sentences will run concurrently.
