Man murdered in Still Bay home invasion- wife tied up

Police in Still Bay are investigating a case of murder after a man and his wife, were attacked in their house in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie, says the 65-year-old Johan Ungerer, was stabbed in his neck while his wife Christina, who survived the attack, was tied up and locked inside a bedroom.

Pojie says it is alleged that three men, armed with a gun and sharp objects, gained entry to the Ungerer's house in Melkboom Street shortly after midnight.

He says the suspects gained entry through a window by removing the glass.

The suspects demanded cash before driving off in the victim's white Chevrolet, which was later found abandoned on a farm near the N2 between Still Bay and Riversdale.

The suspects are still at large.
