Man missing at sea in Mossel Bay

A search is underway for a 23-year-old man who is missing after falling from rocks into the sea at Mossel Bay.

Police said the man disappeared into the water at around 5 pm on Sunday afternoon. 

The incident happened near the St Blaize walking trail close to the Mossel Bay Golf Estate.

A woman who was with the man when he fell alerted homeowners nearby. 

The NSRI and rescue workers will continue their search on Monday with the assistance of rescue helicopters.

The missing man has been identified as Arnold van der Mescht.
