George man shot and killed in Thembalethu

George police are investigating a murder following the death of a man in Thembalethu at the weekend.

Spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies says police were alerted to the scene on Friday evening, where they found the victim on the pavement at Silvertown with a gunshot wound to the head.

He was declared dead by paramedics.

Spies says the motive for the killing is not yet known.
