Police have opened up an inquest docket after a man was mauled to death by two dogs.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana says the incident happened at 5 am on Saturday in Kenton on Sea.
He says a 25-year-old man was walking down Northwood street when he was allegedly attacked by two Rottweilers.
Kinana says the victim was bitten several times and died on the scene.
The animals were taken to the local SPCA.
Brigadier Kinana says criminal charges might arise at a later stage of this investigation.
Police did not divulge the name of the deceased.
