A taxi conductor was killed on Thursday morning when the driver of their vehicle lost control in William Slammert Drive in Bethelsdorp in Nelson Mandela Bay.
Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says according to the driver he swerved to avoid a pedestrian when he lost control of his taxi.
His vehicle hit a brick pillar, overturned and caught alight.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says two school children, aged 15 and 17 were injured in the accident as well as the driver and two other adults.
They were taken to the hospital for treatment
The name of the victim has not yet been released and a case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
