Police detectives from Gqeberha are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a truck driver found a body of an unknown man on the N2, close to the Cerebos turnoff at the Coega Industrial Area.
Spokesperson Captain Gerda Swart says they suspect that the victim was hit by a car and they are now urgently looking for the driver.
She says the man, believed to be in his fifties, was discovered at about 10.45 pm on Wednesday.
The victim was clad in a black pair of jeans, a white t-shirt, black socks, a black jacket and grey and yellow tekkies.
A bag was also found close to the body and could help to identify him.
Any person who might have witnessed the accident or who can identify the owner of the bag or any person who is looking for a missing family member that fit the description is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Martin Assia on 082 442 1684.
