Man killed in PE shack fire

A 44 year-old man was burnt to death in a shack fire in Kwadwesi, Port Elizabeth on Wednesday night. 

Police spokesperson, Constable Mcedi Mbombo, says neighbours in Zinyoka location were alerted to the fire at around 11pm. 

However, it was too late to save the man who hails from Grahamstown. 

Its believed that the fire was started by a burning candle. 

An inquest docket has been opened.
