A man has died after being bitten by a shark on the Wild Coast.
The station commander of the National Sea Rescue Institute at Port St. Johns, John Castello, says they were called out to Second Beach Tuesday afternoon.
He says someone spotted a shark, close to where hundreds of people were in the surf.
Castello says lifesavers were unable to get everyone out of the water in time, and a man was bitten.
