Eastern Cape police said a 50-year-old man will be appearing in the eMaXesibeni magistrate court on Monday in connection with a shooting that left two family members, aged 16 and 33, dead.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa, said four other people, aged between 20 and 57, were also shot and wounded and are in critical condition in hospital.
She said the incident happened in the Mkhambathini location outside eMaxesibeni on Friday when four balaclava-clad gunmen opened fire on two homes.
Mawisa said the two people, a teenage boy and a woman, were killed, while the others were wounded in the second house.
She said the suspect was arrested on Saturday facing two counts of murder and four of attempted murder.
Police are still on the lookout for three other suspects and anyone with information that could lead to their arrest should contact their nearest police station or call the SAPS CrimeStop number 08600 10111.
