Five people were killed and another seriously injured when two vehicles collided in East London on Sunday night.
Provincial Transport Department spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, said three men and two women in a VW Golf were killed while the driver of a Toyota Fortuner, sustained serious injuries and rushed to a hospital.
He said both vehicles were heading towards East London and collided at the intersection of the R102 and N2, between East London and Qonce.
Binqose said the circumstances surrounding the cause of the accident are still unknown at this stage, and Berlin police have opened a culpable homicide docket.
